Pali win W-League Championship

Expansion Blues rally from first deficit of the season to win title

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA -- It’s not always the case that a game can live up to the hype, but the Pali Blues 2-1 victory over FC Indiana in the W-League Championship game will be remembered for ages.

The Pali Blues came out loose and relax and it showed early in the contest. Pali was in control of the game early, dominating possession and getting everyone involved. On the other hand, FC Indiana looked nervous and the big game jitters definitely contributed to early FC Indiana miscues. more

WPSL ALL-EAST CONFERENCE CALL
Libertys' Boyer & Hutchinson Honored

SACRAMENTO, CA (07/25/08) - With the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) regionals playoffs kicking off tonight in Connecticut and Long Island, it’s now time to announce the 2008 All-East First & Second Team selections - as well as conference honorees. The All-Pacific and Big Sky Conference Teams will be announced tomorrow (Sat., July 26th) as their respective playoffs commence on that day, while the All-Midwest & Sunshine teams will be announced on Sunday, July 27th.

On Monday, July 28th, the MYSC Lady Blues (Midwest champion) travel to Brevard County Cocoa Expos (Sunshine champion) as both sides will battle it out for the lone remaining spot in the WPSL Final Four held at Natomas H.S. in Sacramento, CA from Aug. 2-3. But back to the East - tonight, the North Division champ SoccerPlus CT (12-0-0) hosts the Mid Atlantic second-place side Lancaster (8-2-2) at 7:00 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium (New Britain, CT) while the Mid Atlantic Division champ Long Island Fury (9-1-2) will take the pitch at 7:30 p.m. at Tully Park (N. Hempstead, NY) against the New England Mutiny (10-2-0).
